Fiesta Verde tips for the Parades
We hope everyone is having a great time during Fiesta 2013. If you've visited an event, hopefully you have seen the blue recycling containers at the events to help you do your part in keeping Fiesta clean and sustainable. This Friday the two biggest events of Fiesta will be held downtown. On Friday, April 26th the Battle of Flowers Parade will be held starting at 11:30 a.m. The following day, April 27th, the Fiesta Flambeau Parade follows the same route starting at 7 p.m. Since 2011 the Fiesta San Antonio Commission in coordination with the City of San Antonio and Keep San Antonio Beautiful have been working to help make both parades as clean and green as possible through the Fiesta Verde initiative. This year all three groups will be back on the route with around 150 volunteers helping everyone do the right thing by recycling and disposing of trash. Here are some simple tips to remember to help do your part in making Fiesta the greenest festival in the nation.
