Walmart Joins Fiesta Verde! Efforts
Walmart has committed $30,000 over a two-year period to help Keep San Antonio Beautiful, Inc. for Fiesta Verde! Fiesta Verde! is a festival-wide program to promote recycling and zero-waste at the 100+ Fiesta events. Keep San Antonio Beautiful participates in Fiesta Verde! by recruiting and coordinating volunteers in collaboration with the Fiesta Commission and the City of San Antonio.

Keep San Antonio Beautiful has it all...A great mission and purpose, ample opportunities for the public to engage in improving our environment, AND amazing community volunteers!
For the second year, Keep San Antonio Beautiful partnered with the city of San Antonio and the Fiesta Commission to educate and assist parade-goers with proper disposal of parade trash. Not any easy task, but a very important element to changing community behaivor and "greening" Fiesta events. Moore than 100 dedicated KSAB volunteers braved the crowds and heat to distribute trash and recycling bags to parade spectators, encouraged their use, and helped collect the filled bags after the parades. The result? A cleaner post-parade route, a 35% recycle rate and many community members newly committed to helping keep our city beautiful.
