Our Programs

Adopt-A-Spot Litter Control This program offers individuals, groups, schools and businesses the opportunity to select an area of town and assume responsibility for cleaning it four times a year.

Dial-A-Trailer This is a joint program with the Solid Waste Management  Department of the City of San Antonio which allows non-profit groups the opportunity to remove large items not collected during the normal weekly trash pick-up.   Trailers are reserved on a first-come, first served basis and are available on Saturdays only. Requests within San Antonio city limits can be served.

Basura Bash This Cleanup of the San Antonio River brings over 2,400 volunteers together annually and collects over 25 tons of trash, recycles 3.5 tons of waste and collects over 1,600 tires.

Graffiti Wipeout In partnership with the City of San Antonio, educates groups about the destructive results of graffiti and includes ongoing graffiti abatement projects.

Green Team Challenge A competition, sponsored by The Real Estate Council, Keep San Antonio Beautiful, and the City of San Antonio, targeting elementary and middle schools and encouraging students to improve their campus and surrounding neighborhood area through clean-up activities and increased environmental awareness. The competition provides an opportunity for students to take ownership in their schools, gain community pride and win cash prizes to continue their clean-up and beautification efforts.

Project Re-directory School Competition This community-wide effort collects outdated telephone books for recycling. All elementary, middle, and high schools are eligible to participate. The ten schools that bring in the most directories will be awarded cash prizes totaling over $4,500.

Alamo Forest Partnership Tree planting and tree giveaways.

“Though the word beautification makes the concept sound merely cosmetic, it involves much more: clean water, clean air, clean roadsides, safe waste disposal and preservation of valued old landmarks as well as great parks and wilderness areas. To me…beautification means our total concern for the physical and human quality we pass on to our children and the future.”
